LECTRIC SHAVE!

Sorry it took forever to get something up. I was really cutting it close with breaking my two videos per month streak. I've been really busy lately, but I was sick at home today so I took the time to finally finish this one (I think I started it about a month ago then just didn't have the time to work on it). I have the start of something already filmed, I'll try to have that done in the first half of September, but I'm not making any promises. Alright, Have a good one.

Back-To-School Update

Hello, I just finished my first week of school. I'm on the varsity soccer team, so that may hinder my ability to consistently put out videos. But, I will try to finish the ones that are already in progress soon. I just have to do a significant piece of editing of one video, and then finish filming and editing of another one. Also, Kjetil just proposed a good idea to me that we will try to get started in a few weeks, when we both have a break from school (up here in northern Maine, schools get 2-3 weeks off so students can help with the potato harvest). Just thought I'd let you know what's up, peace.

EDIT: As I've mentioned before, I am getting a new camera, and I've finally decided on the one I want. Have a look here: http://www.amazon.com/Sanyo-VPC-TH1-Compact-Camcorder-Optical/dp/B001Q3M9JA/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1250953766&sr=8-7

Update

Sorry about the lack of posting lately. So, here's what I'm up to: I had one script that I was going to start filming, but then I got another great idea that I wanted to do first, so I pushed the first script back. Then, I got some footage that will make for a great video, so I pushed the second idea back for this third idea (I know, I'm being vague, but I don't want to give away too much).

I was going to film a small part of the third mentioned idea yesterday, but I was at a tennis tournament all day and I got a pretty noticeable sunburn. I tried filming anyway, but I recorded a quick test take and my face was extremely red, so I couldn't do anything. Today, it looks better, so I will finish filming if I have the time and create the final edit.

In the meantime, I have posted some non-FaceHead videos on my other YouTube account. The first one I posted was that annoying commercial for Lectric Shave with the talking hairs. There wasn't a copy of it on YouTube, so I put it up (??video hint??)

The second one is a karaoke performance of Eminem's "Cleaning Out My Closet" by Nathan (if you don't know him, he's the other guy in the "Ball: The Daniel Armstrong Story" video) at a annual local celebration our town has, Summerfest (????another video hint????).

That's all for now. If you're not a subscriber on YouTube, become one: I post updates there more frequently than I do on here. If you're not a fan on Facebook, become one: I have 77 right now, and the more the better. Anyways, have a nice day.

New KJ video, and my progress

I should also be finishing my next video tonight too. If not tonight, then I anticipate tomorrow being the latest, but tonight is very possible.

YouTube Page/Update

Check out the YouTube page: right below the most recent video, you'll find that my Recent Activity box is a little more active. I'll be using that section of the YouTube page to give quick, Twitter-style updates about what I'm doing. Those updates may be more frequent than the ones on this blog, but the ones on this blog will be longer and more detailed.

As for my next video, I may finish it tonight. If I don't, it will (probably) be live on YouTube tomorrow.

That's all from me, have a nice evening.

New video soon

Yeah, I haven't put anything out in a while, but I'm finished the script and shooting for my next video. I just have to do the editing and then I'll be all set. So, expect that within the next few days.

Kjetil is also gonna have something new in a few days, so be looking out for that (or not, I'll post it here anyways).

Update

It's been a while since I've written anything here, but I've taken a little bit of a break. But now I'm back and I have a new video or two (or three) coming up and they'll be coming up soon, within the next few days.

2,000 total video views

A little milestone for me, mainly thanks to the Billy Mays Tribute video, which has garnered over 1,000 views.

Billy Mays (7/20/1958 - 6/28/2009)

If you haven't yet heard the tragic news, legendary TV pitchman Billy Mays was found dead in his home this morning. This saddens me very very much, for I feel as though I had gotten to know him better both through his commercials and his Discovery Channel show, "Pitchmen." This great man and pop-culture icon was taken from us far too soon, but he will live on in our minds and hearts. I quickly compiled this video tribute to Billy Mays, enjoy.

Production Update

Today, Nathan and I will be finalizing a script that we conceived yesterday and hopefully get some of the filming done. All filming will have to be finished by Saturday, because on Sunday, Nathan is leaving for a month to go to Arizona. So, expect something soon.

EDIT 6/27: Never ended up getting together with Nathan (I was out of town), and he's leaving tomorrow, so that video will have to wait. However, I thought of another idea that I can film by myself, so I'll do that in the next few days. I also though of another idea besides the previous one, but it would require a lot of editing and I project that it would take a few months to get done, but I do hope to do it soon because I think that it could be really interesting.

Another new Kjetil video

KJ has a new video, have a look.

Vote for my videos

Hey guys (if anybody's even reading this), please go to http://www.neatorama.com/upcoming/ and vote for my videos that are there. If they get enough votes, they will be put into the blog on the front page, which I hear is modestly popular. To vote, you have to make an account first, but it's very quick, and they don't send you any annoying emails.

To vote for "Ball: The Daniel Armstrong Story," click here. "Ball" is doing very well right now: it has a rating of 12, currently the leader in the Upcoming Queue at Neatorama

To vote for "Talking to Myself," click here. This one is not doing as well, with a rating of 3, but vote for it and get it up there.

Anyway, I'll probably start a new video soon, I just have to decide which one of my ideas I want to make first. I'll keep you posted, have a good one.

Talking to Myself

Ball: The Daniel Armstrong Story

Almost done

Hello everybody. Good news: I just need to have Nathan over today to redo a few quick things, then the video could be finished and uploaded as soon as tonight (probably tomorrow the latest). Just thought I'd keep you in the loop, buh-bye.

Also, I hope you enjoy the new logo.

One video down...

...and one to go. I finished one of the videos last night, and I think it turned out pretty well. I don't want to give away too much, but I'll just say that it took a long time to make the video, despite its length.
I hope to have two videos uploaded by Saturday, if not sooner. For the other one, I just have to have Nathan over so we can redo some vocal dubs, then I should be able to finish editing within a few days. So, keep watching the next few days, something new is just around the corner.

A nice day today...

...a day too nice to spend inside editing a film, but I will most likely have the new videos up within a week. Rewrites and reshoots went well yesterday: Nathan helped me a bit with the writing, and we changed the entire concept of the video (for the better). Filming went smoothly as well, despite it taking 20 minutes to get a (roughly) 40 second scene right (thanks, Nate).

I will have a lot more time to concentrate on videos now, as I only have to go to school tomorrow, then I am done, so hopefully I will be able to make new videos more often. OK, I'm out to enjoy the weather, have a good one.

Also, check this out, I find it hilarious.

Blog format change

Hey, in case you didn't notice, I changed the colors of the blog a little bit. Don't worry about the header: I know it looks bad right now, but I will update it with the new logo with my next video uploads.

Slight delay in production

Hey, while editing the film together for my next video, I realized that, quite frankly, it wasn't that good or funny. So, I'm gonna spend the next few days rewriting and refilming parts of the video. The other video I'm working on is still going well, however.

Also, I changed the FaceHead logo, and everything (YouTube page, blog, etc.) will be updated with the next set of video uploads.

Alright, that's all I have, so have a good one, all.

P.S. Check out this song, it's unbelievable.

Filming today

Hey guys, I finally have some free time (today and tomorrow), so Nathan and I will be filming for about 2 or 3 videos I've been meaning to get done. So, expect something new soon.

Also, I decided that instead of uploading one video at a time, I will always upload videos in pairs, so that way, after you watch one new video and (hopefully) want some more, you'll be able to have some more.

I've been feeling very creative lately: I've conceived about 5 great video ideas in just the past 3 days, so expect me to be pumping out some good stuff, more so when my school lets out in a few weeks.

Busy busy busy...

Hello gang, sorry about not having any new videos for a while, but I have been INSANELY busy lately. First off, in northern Maine around this time is year is fiddlehead season, and my family and I pick a lot of fiddleheads, so that consumes a lot of my time. Also, I am going to the prom (tomorrow, actually), so I've also been spending time getting ready for that. And finally, since I was gone on my trip to Ireland, I fell a little behind in school, so whatever time I had left was being spent on catching up with that.

Don't fret though: I was actually reminded to make a post in the blog because I was starting to edit a video. I thought it would be a good idea to keep whoever actually reads this updated while I wait for my video clips to import into iMovie. So, I will be working on that video; it shouldn't take too long for me to finish. All right, that's all I have, have a good one, gang.

P.S. - Check out this video I made during my Ireland trip when we stopped in Philadelphia:

Back from Ireland/Video update

Hey all, I have returned from Ireland, and the trip was GREAT. I saw an Eric Clapton concert (pretty much the reason for the trip) that it was UNBELIEVABLE (hang on, I think my CAps lOck is bRokEn... OK, got it). I took some great videos of the show, and great photos. Here are some of the best pictures I took:

Yeah, I'm a pretty good photographer. Also, I'll post a video I took of "I Shot the Sheriff" in a little bit. EDIT: Here it is:

While in Ireland/Philadelphia (we stopped there too)/airplanes, I filmed a video, so I will work on that. There is a lot of dubbing in the video, so give me a few weeks to work on that. Also, Kjetil will make 1 or 2 videos I believe, so I'll keep you updated on those. Have a good one, gang.

Trip to Ireland/new video(s) soon

Hello everybody, a little update. I will be leaving to go to Ireland on Saturday, along with my uncle, my cousins (including video collaborator Kjetil), and my brother. Naturally, Kjetil and I will use this opportunity to make at least one video, so in about a week or two, expect something having to do with Ireland up on the blog and on YouTube. I also fostered a few other new ideas that I want to develop, so I still have much more to do. Alright, that's all I got for now.

"Mother's Day Tips" video

"Vote for Me" video

First two videos/other news and ramblings

I finally completed the first two FaceHead videos. I put the finishing touches (mixing and timing the music and the overdubs, etc.) on both of them and uploaded them last night. I would provide direct links in this post, but YouTube is blocked at my school (where I am currently writing this from), so I will give each video an individual post later, but for now, you can just go to the FaceHeadVideo YouTube page and access them there.

The first video I uploaded is called "Vote for Me." It is a campaign video for Tom Perkins' bid for class President against Kevin. The second video I uploaded is titled "Mother's Day Tips." It is pretty self descriptive, as it is a funny video offering you tips on how to make your mothers feel appreciated on Mother's Day.

I also would like to tell you about how I am (kind of) connected to two of my video-making idols, Luke Barats and Joe Bereta of Barats and Bereta fame. About two years ago or so, I found myself with some rare content made by Luke and Joe Bereta that was not available on YouTube (or anywhere else that I could find). So, I created a YouTube account, baratsandberetarare, to give these videos an online home. Every so often, I would gain access to a new video, put it up, and it would get a pretty decent amount of views. Every now and then, Luke and Joe would have a problem with some of the videos I put up, saying that they were not satisfied with them or that they were ideas currently being developed by them, so I took them down. Since, we have sent a few messages back and forth. It is an honor to be in contact with Luke and Joe, because I look upon them so highly.

Some of the videos on baratsandberetarare have gained some popularity and have garnered a decent number of views. That inspired me to start making videos myself. I am good at writing and I'm told that I'm pretty funny, so I thought I could make a decent filmmaker as well. Right now, I am working with pretty amateur equipment, but I plan to invest some time and money improving that. When I come into more money (which oughta be happening soon), I plan on purchasing a decent camera (maybe one of those Flip video cameras: I've seen video taken with those and it looks pretty good, and the camera is only about $200), a tripod and maybe some lighting.

So anyways, go watch the first two videos at http://www.youtube.com/faceheadvideo and if you like them, please subscribe and tell everybody you've ever met in your entire life about my videos.

Almost done the first FaceHead video...

...but I have made a few other ones in the mean time.

Nate's Gum Thesis Video - A video project I helped my friend make for his Science class.
No Trespassing - A quick improvisational piece that I did with my friend Nathan, the same guy from the gum video.

Anyways, as for my own FaceHead progress, I currently have three projects underway. One of them is involving Mother's Day (and is very near completion), and since that holiday comes up in about a month, hopefully the video will help me gain some exposure (although I suppose if you're reading this and you don't know me personally, I must be known a little bit). My other two videos should be finished very soon as well, so by Mother's Day, I should have at least three videos up for you good people to see.

Production Updates

Just thought I ought to give a heads-up as to what I am up to. Well, I currently have about 15 video ideas written down, all of which have great potential. I am in the middle of production of one of them, a stop-motion that is coming along very well. I am a high school student, so my studies do take up a good portion of my time, but I hope to have my first video up within a few weeks.

---

I have made some other amateurish videos prior to getting organized, so if you want to watch them, they may give a small taste of what's to come:

KJ's Temper - I quick improvisational video I made with my cousin on the way out the door. I am the one behind the camera, he is the one in the shot. He will most likely be a frequent collaborator in future FaceHead Video productions.

Football - A short piece I made with my siblings out of boredom on a Saturday afternoon.

Brother Slaps His Sister - Not really a video production, but my brother and sister were goofing around with the laptop's camera and this is what that camera happened to capture.

Welcome

Hello, welcome to the blog of FaceHead Video. On this website, I will post updates about new video creations that I will be making (and uploading to YouTube at www.youtube.com/FaceHeadVideo), as well as other things I find amusing.
